At Abdullah Gül University (AGU), social responsibility projects carried out within the scope of the “GLB 300-Societal Impact” course were showcased at the Project Fair, where the most successful projects were also awarded.
During the Fall Semester of the 2025–2026 Academic Year, more than 80 interdisciplinary student groups, consisting of a total of 471 students, developed community-oriented projects in collaboration with 51 different external stakeholders. Working in teams of 4 to 5, students aligned their projects with at least two of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The projects were implemented in cooperation with 42 schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, as well as a nursing home, a special education and rehabilitation center, a mental health hospital, four non-governmental organizations, a university, and two parks and recreation centers located in the Kocasinan and Melikgazi districts.
Among the more than 80 projects conducted, 33 were selected as exemplary and transformed into poster presentations and introductory videos. These works were presented to participants at the Project Fair held in the Rectorate Conference Hall on the Sumer Campus. Through their posters, students shared the aims of their projects, the contributions they generated for society, and their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The evaluation committee consisted of AGU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Evren Mutlugün, Savaş Ertuğrul from the Kayseri Chamber of Industry, Cengiz Leblebici from the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce, Mehmet Sami Çapacıoğlu from Kocasinan Municipality, and Gonca Özkaya from the Central Anatolia Development Agency.
Following the jury’s assessment, the projects titled “Single Drop a Thousand Hopes,” “AGÜ SWARP,” and “Beyond the Screen” were selected as the top three projects. Appreciation plaques were presented to the students behind these award-winning projects by Dr. Melike Aygün Çakıroğlu, Director of the AGU Distance Education Application and Research Center.
The Project Fair provides an important platform for students to demonstrate their social responsibility awareness, their ability to collaborate with stakeholders, and their commitment to contributing to society.
