As part of the GLB course series designed to introduce students to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and raise awareness, the second course in the series, GLB 104, hosted a special guest speaker on April 11, 2025, during the week themed around “SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.” Arif Aygündüz—former General Manager of Koç Holding, Founding President of the METU Alumni Association, TEV volunteer, and President of the Kardeş Aile Platform—joined students for an inspiring and thought-provoking session.
During his talk, Aygündüz discussed the societal impact of volunteerism and addressed several key topics such as disability rights, quality education for all, gender equality, and the power of networking. By sharing stories and lessons from his own volunteer journey, he emphasized the importance of youth engagement in social responsibility initiatives.
The session, which drew great interest from participants, offered students valuable insights into both personal growth and contributing to the greater good of society.
