On October 31, 2025, within the scope of the GLB 101 – Global Issues course, a training session titled “SDG 2: Zero Hunger” was organized in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
During the session, Burak Öz from FAO Türkiye delivered a comprehensive presentation focusing on key SDG 2 sub-targets such as agricultural sustainability, food security, improving nutrition, and supporting smallholder farmers. Öz shared up-to-date data and field insights on food systems transformation, sustainable farming practices, and global strategies to combat hunger.
The event reflected AGÜ’s sustainability-oriented educational approach and its vision to raise societal awareness through collaboration with international organizations. The university continues to provide high-quality learning opportunities for both its students and the wider community, aiming to strengthen awareness and engagement in food security, agricultural production, and inclusive development.
In addition to 750 first-year students from all AGÜ departments, the session also welcomed participants from outside the university, as the GLB courses are designed to be open to the public and accessible to anyone interested in sustainability-related topics.
